Los transformadores m\u00e1s comunes suministran energ\u00eda a los circuitos y algunos suministran energ\u00eda a los electrodom\u00e9sticos. La clave aqu\u00ed son las medidas de aislamiento del devanado de entrada y del devanado de salida, que deben ser de tipo doble aislamiento o aislamiento reforzado, o tipo de aislamiento equivalente. Este requisito es para garantizar que el devanado primario y el devanado secundario tengan suficiente aislamiento. Por lo tanto, para garantizar la distancia de fuga y el espacio libre el\u00e9ctrico entre el primario y el secundario, los devanados bobinados no se pueden colocar en las caras extremas superior e inferior.
