Clause 3 – How to understand the definition of “supply cord”
supply cord: flexible cord, for supply purposes, that is fixed to the appliance
Generally speaking, most countries have their own mandatory safety and performance testing standards for supply cord. The supply cord here is a certified supply cord relative to the supply leads in clause 3.2.1. In most countries, the maximum current that the plug can withstand is 16A. If the current exceeds this value, the plug is not used, but the supply cord is directly connected to the fixed wiring; the supply cord here refers to the part of the cord without a plug.
